As summer approaches, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County (BGCLC) is preparing to open its doors to hundreds of local youth and teens for its highly anticipated 2026 Summer Enrichment Program, offering a safe, affordable, and engaging environment for ages 6 to 18.

The program, which runs from June 8 through July 31 at Club locations and June 8 through July 24 at select school sites, is designed to keep young people active and learning during the summer months.

BGCLC leaders say the program goes beyond traditional childcare, focusing on academic support, skill-building, and personal development.

“This is about giving kids and teens opportunities to grow, explore their interests, and stay connected in a positive environment,” said a BGCLC CEO, Denise Gergley. “We want every child to walk away with new skills, new friendships, and confidence heading into the next school year.”

Participants can expect a full schedule of activities that blend education with fun. The program includes STEM projects, reading programs, field trips, sports and recreation, and guest speakers, all designed to keep students engaged while preventing summer learning loss.

Meals are also provided, with breakfast and lunch served daily, helping ease the burden on working families while ensuring children remain energized throughout the day.

The summer program will be offered at five locations throughout Lee County, including Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral, making it accessible to families across the region.

Club-based programs span eight weeks, while school-based sites operate for seven weeks, typically from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing full-day coverage for working parents.

BGCLC continues to emphasize affordability, with weekly fees starting at $69 per child, plus a $50 registration and activity fee. Financial assistance is available through sibling discounts and scholarships, ensuring that cost is not a barrier for participation.

With demand expected to be high, families are encouraged to register early. More information and registration details are available at http://www.bgclee.org or by calling 239-334-1886.

For many families, BGCLC’s summer program has become a trusted tradition that combines learning, fun, and community in a way that leaves a lasting impact.
