The Cape Coral Animal Shelter is collecting donations for its fifth annual online auction, which runs August 17 through 21, and the wish list reads like a vacation: hotel stays, boat charters, golf packages, concert and show tickets, restaurant gift cards, fine art and jewelry, wine, and pet services such as grooming, spa visits, and boarding.
Last year’s auction raised more than $65,000 for the shelter and its veterinary clinic. Every winning bid helps fund care for dogs and cats waiting on a second chance, and the shelter hopes to top that number this summer.
A few ground rules for donors. Items need to be new, since the shelter cannot accept used, thrift, or yard sale goods. Contributions are tax deductible, and every donor gets recognized throughout the auction and on the shelter’s social media.
There are three ways to give: email the auction form to [email protected], drop items off at 325 SW 2nd Avenue in Cape Coral, or ask the shelter to arrange a pickup.
