Downtown Fort Myers Florida

Music on First Street, a beach cleanup, an artisan market and a pumpkin patch. Here is what is happening around Fort Myers this weekend.

Friday, September 18

Monthly Music Walk
6 to 10 p.m. | First Street, Downtown Fort Myers River District | Free

Local and regional musicians set up all along First Street and play jazz, blues and rock and roll. Stroll the River District, listen for a while, and enjoy the evening with neighbors.

Saturday, September 19

Coastal Cleanup
8 to 10 a.m. | Sites all over Lee County | Free

Keep Lee County Beautiful runs the county’s part of the International Coastal Cleanup. Volunteers fan out to sites across Lee County and pick up litter before it reaches the Gulf. Sign up ahead of time and they will point you to a site.

Alliance Morning Market
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd. | Free

The third Saturday artisan market fills the Alliance’s ten acre campus with local artist and maker booths, food, drinks and live music. Bring a lawn chair.

Family ArtLab at the Alliance
10 a.m. to noon | Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd. | Free

Drop in for free, hands on family art making. The projects change every month and take their ideas from the artwork hanging in the gallery. It runs the same morning as the market, so you can do both.

Friendly Forest Fall Festival
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday | Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium, 3450 Ortiz Ave. | $13 adults, $7 children

The Calusa Nature Center welcomes fall with a pumpkin patch, photo spots, games, scavenger hunts, crafts, a bounce house, animal talks and planetarium shows. It runs both days, so Sunday works too.

Sunday, September 20

Friendly Forest is open again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Calusa Nature Center. Same pumpkin patch, same planetarium shows.
