Looking for something fun close to home? Here are four ways to enjoy the first weekend of August around Fort Myers.

Retro Rooftop Dance Party

Friday, July 31, 8:00 p.m. to midnight. Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center rooftop, downtown Fort Myers. Dance to the greatest hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s under the stars, and dress in your favorite decade. Tickets are $10, or $15 the week of the party.

Lakes Park Bird Patrol Walk

Saturday, August 1, 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr. Friendly Lee County Bird Patrol volunteers lead a morning walk past ibis, egrets, herons and more. Meet at Shelter A7. The walk is free, and standard park parking fees may apply.

Fort Myers Farmers Market

Saturday, August 1, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. First Street and Broadway, downtown Fort Myers. Fresh produce, baked goods and local vendors fill the streets every Saturday morning, rain or shine.

Last Chance: Summer Galleries at the Alliance for the Arts

Through Saturday, August 1. 10091 McGregor Blvd. The summer exhibits close this weekend, including “The Perspectives That Shape Us” from the Union Artist Studios and the Summer Art Campers’ Showcase. Stop in before the shows come down.
