GRANT HAMPTON, PATHWAYS TO OPPORTUNITY PARTICIPANT, ENJOYING PET THERAPY
Communities across the U.S. and Canada will soon celebrate Goodwill Week, taking place this year from May 3–9, 2026. The annual observance highlights the essential role Goodwill organizations play in helping people build brighter futures through employment, education, and community support.
For 2026, Goodwill is spotlighting several key themes designed to empower individuals and strengthen local neighborhoods:
• “2026 is the year of the money mindset shift!” – encouraging intentional spending, purposeful thrift shopping, and long‑term financial progress
• “Give to Gain” – a campaign centered on generosity, collaboration, and community connection
• Sustainability – reinforcing the value of second‑hand shopping, which supports both job training programs and environmental stewardship.
While many people know Goodwill for its retail stores, the organization’s impact reaches far beyond the sales floor. Goodwill organizations across North America are deeply rooted in the communities they serve, offering career services, job training, and programs that help individuals gain the skills and confidence needed to overcome barriers to independence. From résumé assistance to specialized training, Goodwill provides support for people at every stage of life.

With a Goodwill location within 10 miles of 83% of the U.S. population, access to these life‑changing services is more convenient than ever. Here in Southwest Florida, Goodwill Southwest Florida continues to play a vital role in helping residents secure employment, advance their careers, and achieve long‑term stability. Every donation and every purchase directly fuels these programs, while also promoting sustainability by keeping reusable goods out of landfills.
As Goodwill Week approaches, residents are encouraged to visit their neighborhood Goodwill to learn more about the services available and the impact their support makes. Whether you’re donating, shopping, or simply exploring what Goodwill offers, this week is an opportunity to see firsthand how Goodwill helps people transform their lives every day.
Goodwill invites the community to take part in this celebration of empowerment, sustainability, and opportunity – because when individuals thrive, communities thrive with them.
