Three Oaks Parkway Extension Opens Early, With a Ribbon Cutting Nov. 2

Drivers in south Lee County have a new way to get around. Lee County is opening the Three Oaks Parkway Extension, and the whole community is invited to the ribbon cutting.

The ceremony is at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2. It will take place on Three Oaks Parkway, just south of the new Fiddlesticks Boulevard intersection. County commissioners and other leaders will say a few words. Follow the event and parking signs when you arrive. If you live nearby, the county asks you to walk or ride your bike.

Can’t make it? You can watch it live on Lee County’s YouTube channel or on the county’s Facebook page.

WHAT THE NEW ROAD DOES

The extension carries Three Oaks Parkway across the Fiddlesticks Canal and up to Daniels Parkway. That finishes the full Three Oaks corridor. It now runs as one main road from Daniels Parkway south through Estero, Bonita Springs and into Collier County.

For many families, that means a second choice besides Interstate 75 for trips north and south. Fewer cars on I-75 is good news for everyone.

The new section has four lanes, two in each direction, with a median in the middle. There is a 5-foot bike lane and a 6-foot sidewalk on each side. A new roundabout at Fiddlesticks Boulevard and Old Fiddlesticks Boulevard leads to the Publix shopping center.

AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Here is the best part. The original contract called for the work to wrap up in mid-2028. The project is running well ahead of that. Final completion is now set for early 2027.

You may still see crews working in the area after the ribbon cutting. That is normal. The new part of Three Oaks Parkway will be open while they finish.

Two more things are still to come on Daniels Parkway. Daniels has been widened to eight lanes from Danport Boulevard to Apaloosa Lane and Powers Court. All eight lanes will open after final paving and striping. The intersection at Three Oaks Parkway and Palomino Lane will also be done after restriping.

STAY IN THE LOOP
