One of Fort Myers’ favorite back-to-school traditions is back for its 27th year. The Big Backpack Giveaway returns Sunday, July 26 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Fort Myers Skatium, 2250 Broadway.
The setup is simple and family friendly. Parents drive through the line, and kids ages 5 to 12 receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. Children must be in the car to receive a backpack. Live music and entertainers keep everyone smiling along the carline.
For 27 years, this event has helped thousands of local kids start the school year ready to learn. With classes starting soon across Lee County, the timing could not be better for families watching their budgets.
