Event celebrates 60 years of service and impact across Southwest Florida
FORT MYERS, FL (January 28, 2026) – Tickets are now available for the Goodwill Southwest Florida (SWFL) Annual Breakthrough Awards. The event celebrates exceptional community partners, supporters, and mission success stories, held Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center, 1375 Monroe Street in downtown Fort Myers.
This year’s event carries special significance as Goodwill SWFL commemorates its Diamond Year – 60 years of service across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades, and Hendry counties. For six decades, the nonprofit has empowered individuals with disabilities and disadvantages through programs that build independence, remove barriers, and promote opportunity.
The Breakthrough Awards recognize seven individuals and organizations whose contributions have strengthened Goodwill’s mission and expanded its impact throughout the region.
Honors Presented at the 2026 Breakthrough Awards
- Chet Perry Achiever of the Year – Celebrating a current Goodwill employee who excels on the job and has flourished through participation in a Goodwill mission program.
- William J. Barrett Graduate of the Year – Awarded to a mission program graduate who continues to thrive, demonstrating the long-term impact of Goodwill’s support.
- Employer of the Year – Recognizing a business that has created inclusive employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to work.
- Business of the Year – Honoring a company whose strategic partnership has strengthened Goodwill’s ability to serve more people.
- Philanthropist of the Year – Awarded to a generous supporter whose contributions have significantly advanced Goodwill’s mission.
- Employee of the Year – Celebrating a Goodwill team member whose commitment and performance have elevated the organization over the past year.
- Advocate of the Year – New in 2026, this award honors a community member who has used their voice and influence to champion Goodwill’s mission in meaningful ways.
Guests will enjoy a formal plated dinner, video spotlights featuring each honoree’s story, and an evening dedicated to recognizing the partnerships and individuals who make Goodwill’s mission possible.
